Claire Masser – Mobile Massage Therapist
Professional cupping therapy to release muscle tension, improve circulation and support recovery — using both sliding cupping and targeted sports cupping techniques.
Cupping therapy is a highly effective treatment used to release muscle tension, improve circulation and support natural healing.
I offer both sliding cupping and targeted sports cupping using professional silicone cups (RockPods). Sliding cupping provides a relaxing treatment that gently lifts the fascia and encourages blood flow and lymphatic drainage, while static cupping is ideal for treating specific areas of tension or injury.
Cupping can be provided as a standalone treatment, or included as part of a massage session depending on your needs.
Cupping therapy can help relieve tension, improve circulation and support recovery in a range of conditions, including:
• Muscle tightness and tension
• Neck, shoulder and back pain
• Postural tension from desk work
• Sports injuries and muscle strain
• Restricted movement or stiffness
• Areas of persistent tightness or trigger points
• Swelling or sluggish circulation
• Clients who find deep pressure uncomfortable
• Anyone looking for a relaxing treatment that still supports recovery
Cupping therapy works by gently lifting the soft tissue beneath the skin using specialised silicone cups.
Sliding cupping is a relaxing treatment where the cups are moved smoothly across the skin. This technique gently lifts the fascia, creating more space between the structures beneath the skin. This helps encourage blood flow and lymphatic drainage, supports natural healing and provides a deeply relaxing treatment — especially helpful for clients who prefer treatment without deep pressure.
Static sports cupping using RockPods is more targeted and is often used on specific areas of tension or injury. The cups may be placed on problem areas and left in position for a short period, or used alongside massage or assisted stretching to support recovery and improve movement.
Sliding cupping does not leave marks on the skin. Static cupping may sometimes leave temporary circular marks, which are a normal response and usually fade within two to three days.
If you’re unsure which cupping technique is best for your needs, I will guide you during your consultation to ensure the treatment is both safe and effective.
When I arrive, we’ll begin with a short conversation about how you’re feeling and what you’d like to get from your session. This allows me to tailor the treatment to your needs on the day.
If cupping is appropriate, I will explain the process clearly and ensure you’re comfortable before starting. I always work within your comfort level and answer any questions you may have.
I’ll then set up my professional equipment and begin treatment. Depending on your needs, this may include sliding cupping for relaxation and circulation, targeted static cupping using RockPods, massage techniques, or a combination of these approaches.
You’re always in control throughout the session, and I encourage feedback so we can adjust the treatment as needed.
At the end of the session, I’ll provide helpful aftercare advice to support recovery and maximise the benefits of treatment.
Cupping therapy may be especially suitable for:
• People experiencing muscle tightness or tension
• Those with neck, shoulder or back discomfort
• Clients with postural tension from desk work
• People recovering from muscle strain or injury
• Those who prefer treatment without deep pressure
• Clients who find traditional deep massage uncomfortable
• People looking for a relaxing treatment that still supports recovery
• Anyone needing focused treatment for specific areas of tension
• Clients wanting to improve circulation and support natural healing
Most clients simply choose the length of time that suits their needs. I tailor the treatment within that time using the most appropriate techniques — which may include sliding cupping, targeted sports cupping using RockPods, massage or a combination of these approaches.
You can choose from:
• 30 minutes — ideal for focused cupping treatment on one specific area or for standalone cupping
• 60 minutes — suitable for treating one or two areas, combining cupping with massage, or allowing more time for targeted problem areas
Booking is simple — just choose a time that suits you, and I will tailor the treatment to your needs on the day.
Cupping can be booked as a standalone treatment, or included as part of a massage session depending on your needs.
If you’re unsure what duration to choose, I’m always happy to offer guidance.
