Kinesiology Taping in Christchurch

Professional kinesiology taping to support muscles, reduce strain and aid recovery — applied as part of your massage treatment to help maintain results between sessions.

Kinesiology taping is often applied at the end of a sports massage treatment to support muscles, provide reassurance and encourage continued healing after your session.

The tape works alongside your treatment by helping to support injured or tired muscles, improve awareness of movement and reduce strain during everyday activities.

Where appropriate, I will also show you how to apply the tape yourself and provide additional tape so you can continue using it at home if needed.

How Kinesiology Taping Works

Kinesiology tape is a flexible, supportive tape applied directly to the skin to help support muscles and joints without restricting normal movement.

Unlike rigid strapping, the tape moves naturally with your body. This allows you to continue your daily activities while providing gentle support and reducing strain on injured or tired muscles.

Kinesiology taping can help improve awareness of movement, support healing tissues and provide reassurance when returning to activity after injury.

What Kinesiology Taping Can Help With

Kinesiology taping may be helpful for:

• Supporting tired or strained muscles
• Providing gentle support to joints during recovery
• Reducing strain during everyday activities
• Supporting shoulders, knees, backs or other commonly affected areas
• Providing reassurance when returning to movement after injury
• Supporting posture and muscle awareness
• Helping maintain the benefits of your massage treatment between sessions

What Happens During a Visit

When I arrive, we’ll begin with a short conversation about how you’re feeling and what you’d like to get from your session. This allows me to tailor the treatment to your needs on the day.

Kinesiology taping is usually applied towards the end of your massage treatment, once the muscles and tissues have been worked and the most appropriate taping method can be selected.

I’ll apply the tape carefully to support the area that needs assistance, ensuring it feels comfortable and allows you to move naturally.

Where appropriate, I will also show you how to apply the tape yourself and provide additional tape so you can continue using it at home if needed.

At the end of the session, I’ll provide helpful aftercare advice to support your recovery and help you get the most benefit from your treatment.

Choose Your Treatment Duration

Kinesiology taping is usually applied as part of your massage treatment, typically towards the end of your session once the muscles have been worked.

Most clients simply choose the length of massage time that suits their needs, and taping can be included within that session where appropriate.

• 30 minutes — ideal for focused treatment on one specific area
• 60 minutes — suitable for treating one or two areas and allowing time for taping if needed
• 90 minutes — extended time for more complex or multiple areas requiring deeper or ongoing treatment
